Show My IP for macOS

Support

Quick help for viewing your public IPv4 and IPv6 address from the macOS menu bar.

Getting started

1. Open Show My IP and select its icon in the menu bar.
2. Your current IPv4 and IPv6 addresses appear when available.
3. Use Refresh to check again, or copy an address with its copy button.

If an address is unavailable

Check your internet connection, then select Refresh. Some networks provide only IPv4 or only IPv6, so the other address may correctly remain unavailable.

Data and settings

Preferences and optional IP-change history are stored locally on your Mac. You can clear history from Settings at any time. No account is required.

When reporting a problem, please include your macOS version, the Show My IP app version, and a brief description of what happened. Do not include your public IP address unless it is necessary for your request.
