Privacy Policy

This policy applies to Show My IP for macOS, provided by KOONOX PTE. LTD.

Information processed

To return your public IP address, the app sends an HTTPS request to our lookup service. The service necessarily receives the source IP address and returns it with a country code, an approximate city when available, the source network’s ASN and registered organization, and the observation time. The city may not reflect your physical location. The service does not provide a separate ISP name.

How information is used

The source IP is used only to answer the lookup request and apply abuse-prevention rate limits. We do not use it for advertising, tracking, profiling, or sale.

Retention

Our application code does not write source IP addresses to service logs or persistent storage. Rate limiting uses a one-way keyed value instead of the original address. Operational logs contain request status and timing, but not the original IP address.

Data on your Mac

Preferences, the most recent result, and optional address-change history are stored locally in the app sandbox. You can clear history in Settings or remove local app data by uninstalling the app.

Service providers

The lookup and support services run on Cloudflare infrastructure. The Mac app does not include advertising, analytics, or tracking SDKs.

Children

The app is a general-purpose network utility and does not knowingly collect personal information from children.
